Adam Terando, a SE Climate Science Center researcher and adjunct professor in the Applied Ecology Department, accompanied colleagues, Rua Mordecai and Hilary Norris of the South Atlantic Landscape Conservation Cooperative, to Washington DC to brief The Department of the Interior’s Energy and Climate Task Force on Monday, September 15. Their presentation focused on the collaborative efforts on Conservation Blueprint for the South Atlantic, a living plan that describes the places and actions necessary to meet conservation needs in the face of future change.
The SE Climate Science Center has provided data (urbanization and sea level rise projections) as well as local on the ground assistance.
In attendance were Suzette Kimball, Director of the USGS and Mike Connor, Deputy Secretary of the Interior.
