Join the SE CSC Team, Deputy Director Posting

The SE Climate Science Center is looking for a Deputy Director. This position will be a Department of the Interior, U.S.G.S. grade GS-0408/1301-13/14 position. Some of your specific duties will include:

  • Assist the Director with the following duties: coordinating the SECSC research portfolio, ensuring clear and effective communication among researchers and stakeholders, strategic and tactical science planning and representing the SE CSC Director in the Director’s absence.
  • Convene and participate in cooperative partnerships in the Southeast, working closely with partners from universities, other agencies, and tribes in guiding and managing a collaborative global change adaptation program.
  • Identify adaptation decision priorities across multiple federal, state, and nongovernmental global change-oriented agencies in the Southeast.
  • Coordinate resource allocation to ensure efficient and effective development and use of research-based, adaptation-oriented information.
  • Identify best research and communication practices that are evolving in a very dynamic global change science setting involving universities, public agencies, and nongovernmental organizations.
