The Southeast Climate Science Center Stakeholder Advisory Committee (SAC) assists SE CSC Director Jerry McMahon in the identification of strategic natural and cultural resource climate adaptation management priorities and associated science needs. This strategic guidance is summarized in a five-year Strategic Science Plan. The strategic plan helps shape the development and implementation of an annual SE CSC operational science plan. The strategic plan also provides a framework for evaluating the direction and effectiveness of the SE CSC program efforts. The SAC oversaw the development of a five-year Science Plan (2012-2017) that was published in 2012.
The SE CSC and SAC are beginning the development of a SE CSC cycle 2 five-year strategic science plan (2017-2022). Plan development will occur in the winter and spring of 2017.

The existing strategic science plans from the eight regional CSCs are linked below. These plans provide context about what other Centers (and other SACs) have considered “strategic” science needs and strategic areas of activity. These plans are presented to prime the pump for the upcoming SE CSC SAC discussions about the cycle 2 science plan.
